The Chicken Pie Shop, perhaps the most iconic restaurant in Fresno’s Tower District, closed its doors on Sunday, March 31. The Tower District fixture has been in its current location since 1956, and was next door for 10 years before that.
It was one of Nona’s favorites. She loved keeping her freezer stocked with the delicious chicken pies. Dolores also fed them to her family regularly while her children were growing up. Many family members have fond memories of this hearty meal.
