Mary Alice - Age 19 |
Green Shamrocks to Golden Poppies page 179:
When Nona was about 19, she decided to become a nun. In February 1925 her parents took her by train to Oakland, California where she entered the Convent of the Holy Names situated on Lake Merritt. She soon discovered that this type of life was not for her. She did complete one semester of studies while there, but returned to USC the following term.
