Steve and Sue traveled to Vandenberg AFB on Monday, December 3, to watch the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The company SpaceX was founded by its owner Elon Musk in 2002.
Monday’s rocket carried a record 64 small satellites into space and used the same booster for a 3rd time, something that has never been done.
Of the 64 small satellites on board, 49 were cubesats, or tiny 4-inch cube satellites weighing about 3 lbs. each.
Note: One of these cubesats carried the human cremated remains of 100 people. You can send your remains into outer space for $2500, purchased through a company in San Francisco.
