Dolores - Home from Hospital

As many of you know, Dolores had a stroke on August 4th, right after the reunion. She made great progress in her recovery, although will never live alone again. She lives half-time with Sue/Steve and half-time with Chris/Janet.
She went to Saint Agnes on October 24 for a simple procedure called "A Watchman" so that she wouldn't need to take blood thinners anymore. During the procedure, they accidentally punctured her esophagus, and she had to have emergency surgery to repair it. It was been a long slow recovery.
After 3 1/2 weeks in the hospital, she is finally home with us. She is looking and feeling good. She has to eat pureed foods for the next month, but by Christmas should be able to be back to regular cuisine.
Throughout these trying ordeals, she has been surrounded by family. So much love has been poured out on her!
And, at the end of the day, we are thankful, our blessings are bigger than our problems.

Such good news. We are going to try to stop and say hello on our way south in a week or so. Will call when we have a target date or two.
