Monterey Aquarium

While we were in Monterey in February, we visited the wonderful aquarium for which Monterey is noted.

and saw beautiful, colorful fish.

This is an amazing sea horse
that is more easily identifiable in this picture.

The male sea horse is the one who becomes pregnant and carries up to 200 babies in his pouch. When it is time for birth he undergoes a very difficult labor to deliver his "brood".
